Above and Beneath

The project began as an attempt to use sequences in order to gain some understanding of the photography's practice of editing and selection through a certain kind of language and explore other ways of using a dialogue of narrative that is not normally used traditionally.

The final selection of images in Above and Beneath were all taken during the G20 protests in which several thousands people attended Bank, London on 2 April 2009.

The project is looks at the media, businessmen, censorship and the questionable tactics of the police force, which include hiding their identity, violence, intimidation and the controversial tactic called Kettling in which protesters were imprison for 7 to 8 hours in the heart of London's financial system.
